Wanna know why I was banned?

It was one of two things:  Either this Blog Post: Big Mad Once upon a time, there was a scullery maid named Debbi. She labored in the land of Oz, under the mistaken belief that her time and efforts were appreciated by the overlords of Oz. She liked to entertain with her humor and delight by showing off her efforts in the garden. She made friends with other denizens of Oz, like Robin Hood of Nottingham and Maid Marian of the Land of the Rising Sun. Then, the evil overlords yanked her friends away from her, leaving her feeling spiteful and petty. She withdrew many of her recent efforts from Oz because denial is one of her biggest kinks. It didn't matter if the overlords didn't care about her spiteful actions, the fact that she could deny them was enough for her to revel in her actions. The scullery maid is in a quandary, every part of her being is saying to leave the land of Oz. But, she doesn't want to lose touch with the other denizens of Oz. Do you all know how much I ha...

Changes in New Community

I don't know how many are aware, but apparently, there were some changes in the community right before I was banned. One of them was that they added a tip jar to posts for gold members. This means that people can activate a tip jar where users can tip bloggers points.  My question is this: Is this going to apply to posts with pictures taken from the internet? Because that, my friends, runs so far afoul of the DMCA, right of publicity, and copyright law that they're going to have issues. I can just see what would happen when their DMCA takedown office is flooded with takedown notices and they dilly dally like they do with everything else.  Points, for all intents and purposes, function as currency. People other than the copyright owners will be profiting from their work.   The other thing I took note of is when they said that Gold is being weighted higher algorithmically in the Trending List from now on.  So, it seems, it's slowly becoming pay-to-play in th...

I care

Never in my life did I believe things would get to this point, but here we are.  While I wholeheartedly miss the comradery and friendships built on the blogs, I do not miss AFF. I miss the blogging with everyone, for sure. I do not miss the inconsistent moderation, gaslighting by SiteSupport, and toxic culture currently being created by the site's actions.  Criticism is good when given constructively. We all gave constructive criticism for months and were ignored. Then, they banned us, when not one of us broke the Terms of Service. Yet, there are countless criticisms of the site still left up. They banned us because we have large followings, and they wanted to shut us up rather than fix what was wrong. I say no, I won't take this anymore. I'm done being muzzled. There are HUGE problems with AFF, and no one there seems to want to improve user experience. They just seemingly want to monetize more, take away gold privileges and charge extra for them, fix less, and rely on new ...

Cynicism

Normally, I’m what I like to refer to as an optimistic realist. I see things for what they are but hope they can get better. However, as of late, my cynical side is taking full hold of my thoughts in terms of this site. While I enjoy the relationships I have built with my fellow bloggers, I lack the zeal to provide content to a site that prioritizes stolen porn and hookup ads over original content. The content moderation hellscape that allows rampant transphobia to fly by without a second thought while deleting jokey responses between blog friends en masse. The hours of moderation limbo. Followed bloggers posts not being in my feed. The nightmare that is my inbox. Over familiar strangers commenting gross come ons and dick pics on HNW posts. Where I was once excited to blog here, enchanted by the new community, the abandonment of the original policies of this side for the Craig’s list/porn hub feel of it now just depresses me. It leaves me in a spot where I’m going to continue reading t...
