Blogger/Blogspot Tutorial - Reading List

Image
As I said at the end of my last tutorial, this site does not send out emails or alerts when someone you follow puts up a new post. Apparently, they used to but used to doesn't help us.  The way I have circumvented that is to populate my "Reading List" with all your blogs. I will walk you through how to do the same. Starting on the same starting page, you are going to scroll down the left side until you get to "Reading List" that I have circled. When you click "Reading List" it will take you to a page that looks like this but may be empty if you haven't started yours. Click on "Manage" circled on the pic This page will come up, then click "Add" circled on the pic. This box will pop up Here is the list of blogs that I have so far. If I have missed you, don't hesitate to contact me. Lonly https://lonlyforlove2.blogspot.com/ Hippie https://easytobehard0.blogspot.com/ JN https://jnsjottings.blogspot.com/ SubwithBrains htt...

Blogger/Blogspot Tutorial - Add Followers Gadget

Image
Hi All, I may not be the most tech-savvy, but I have figured out how to do things on this site. And, I have the time to put together a little presentation to help everyone.  This is probably going to be a series. I'm going to start with the basics, what will get your blog up and running, and how to make sure people can follow you. When you sign into Blogger, your beginning page looks like this (Yours will have different posts, but the left side of the screen will look like this.  On that left side, click on "Layout" This is where you are going to add the gadget so people can follow you easily.  Don't worry, I'll teach you to add them to your reading list later in this post, so you can easily see when they put up new blog posts because this site doesn't send out alerts or emails to your followers, they're just going to have to check or keep up with their reading list. Please know JN and I both have lists of all the AFFers on our blogs, so you can find them...

Wanna know why I was banned?

It was one of two things:  Either this Blog Post: Big Mad Once upon a time, there was a scullery maid named Debbi. She labored in the land of Oz, under the mistaken belief that her time and efforts were appreciated by the overlords of Oz. She liked to entertain with her humor and delight by showing off her efforts in the garden. She made friends with other denizens of Oz, like Robin Hood of Nottingham and Maid Marian of the Land of the Rising Sun. Then, the evil overlords yanked her friends away from her, leaving her feeling spiteful and petty. She withdrew many of her recent efforts from Oz because denial is one of her biggest kinks. It didn't matter if the overlords didn't care about her spiteful actions, the fact that she could deny them was enough for her to revel in her actions. The scullery maid is in a quandary, every part of her being is saying to leave the land of Oz. But, she doesn't want to lose touch with the other denizens of Oz. Do you all know how much I ha...

Changes in New Community

I don't know how many are aware, but apparently, there were some changes in the community right before I was banned. One of them was that they added a tip jar to posts for gold members. This means that people can activate a tip jar where users can tip bloggers points.  My question is this: Is this going to apply to posts with pictures taken from the internet? Because that, my friends, runs so far afoul of the DMCA, right of publicity, and copyright law that they're going to have issues. I can just see what would happen when their DMCA takedown office is flooded with takedown notices and they dilly dally like they do with everything else.  Points, for all intents and purposes, function as currency. People other than the copyright owners will be profiting from their work.   The other thing I took note of is when they said that Gold is being weighted higher algorithmically in the Trending List from now on.  So, it seems, it's slowly becoming pay-to-play in th...

I care

Never in my life did I believe things would get to this point, but here we are.  While I wholeheartedly miss the comradery and friendships built on the blogs, I do not miss AFF. I miss the blogging with everyone, for sure. I do not miss the inconsistent moderation, gaslighting by SiteSupport, and toxic culture currently being created by the site's actions.  Criticism is good when given constructively. We all gave constructive criticism for months and were ignored. Then, they banned us, when not one of us broke the Terms of Service. Yet, there are countless criticisms of the site still left up. They banned us because we have large followings, and they wanted to shut us up rather than fix what was wrong. I say no, I won't take this anymore. I'm done being muzzled. There are HUGE problems with AFF, and no one there seems to want to improve user experience. They just seemingly want to monetize more, take away gold privileges and charge extra for them, fix less, and rely on new ...

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening All! Y’all didn't think I’d stop because of the fuckwits at aff did you?  Let’s do this! Starting in the front yard, check out the glory of the red pentas.  The hot pink ones are looking luscious too There’s two volunteer sunflowers coming up in the same spot.  We’re getting Mulberries  And the roses are looking lovely as ever.  Moving to the backyard, strawberries are still banging out the fruit! My new pineapple is loving its new home.  We have dinosaur kale coming up The pepper is starting to produce The sunflowers to be planted in the front yard once they’re bigger are really coming in.  The cucumbers are getting their first true leaves And, finally, we have this pepper plant. I call him Jon, sometimes Ali. Do you see how defective it looks? It produces like shit too. That pepper has been growing for three months and it’s still not good.  I’m pretty sure it needs to be replaced, permanently. ;) Thank you f...

Notes from Motion to Dismiss Hearing

I attended the Motion to Dismiss hearing through Zoom.  These are my notes, as recording the hearing in any other manner is against the law.  They’re not perfect, I was writing on my phone.  Started by watching a case with Google.  I like the judge. She seems personable and fair from what I’m hearing.  All lawyers from Google and the other party are nodding along as she rules and asks for argument.  The case is boring and I’m not paying close attention. However, I did hear this:  Judge Freeman: “You’ve hit a brick wall in every other court you’ve been in. Why do you think it will be different with me?” 😂😂😜 She’s funny.  It’s time for what I’m here for Buckheit’s lawyer struggled with Zoom. 😂 He has a backdrop of a bridge.  Conru’s lawyer is appearing with his office as his background.  Buckheit’s lawyer called it a High-Risk company.  “Tardy tender of $1000”    Judge Freeman 😂 She is literally saying she doesn’t...
